There are purposefully built sound effects of the monastery bell and subtle page turn.
Sound volume can be adjusted by iOS device controls or mute switch.

There was an issue of page turning sound effect being too loud in version 6.0.
Please update to the latest version of the app v6.1 in the AppStore:
